Answers On A Postcard Please!
Answers on A Postcard Please! is a collaborative body of work produced as part of a community arts project. Supported by the Arts Council England. The collaborators were residents of the local area, Old Trafford Creative Space, Artists Sam Owen Hull and Lynda Sterling, and myself as a photographic artist.
Old Trafford Creative Space is a Community Arts Space within a former butchers shop on Old Trafford’s high street, Ayres Road.
The project was collaborative and site specific resulting in a series of environmental portraits that were exhibited in the shop windows of Ayres Road.
The photographic exhibition was just one strand of the wider project, but this collaborative work is an illustration of what emerges when you invite local residents to represent their own community.

“We got involved because I couldn’t resist when I saw you strolling down the road with a huge colourful dress and laughing. That’s something you want to know more about! It’s an OT spirit I think, do something a bit different, help out, get involved. But also I like dressing up. ”
